We Made Our SQE Life Easy

  • A Supply Quality Engineer (SQE) ensures that a company’s external suppliers provide high-quality, defect-free materials and components that meet all standards and regulations.
  • Their responsibilities include performing audits such as supplier audit, process audit, product audit, and dock audit; creating quality control plans; fostering strong supplier relationships; and facilitating continuous improvement of the supply chain by preventing quality issues.
  • At Bombay Metrics, we serve as a strategic bridge between suppliers and customers, ensuring seamless coordination and uncompromised quality at every stage.
  • We are committed to delivering products and materials that consistently meet and exceed our customers’ quality expectations, strengthening trust and long-term partnerships.

Our Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier Audits & Assessments: Evaluating supplier facilities, process capabilities, and quality systems to ensure compliance with global benchmarks.
  • Process Validation: Working with suppliers to validate manufacturing methods, eliminating risks of defects during manufacturing to ensure zero defects and on-time delivery.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Identifying and eliminating the root cause of detected non-conformance using the Fishbone Diagram and 5 Whys Process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Guiding suppliers to improve processes and quality using the “KAIZEN” method. We perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) to increase process capability, ensuring zero-defect products every time.
  • Customer Assurance: Acting as a single point of accountability to guarantee that delivered goods meet specifications every time.
  • Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA): Investigating quality issues and implementing corrective actions to prevent rework or rejection using the 8D Methodology.
  • Cost Efficiency: By implementing stringent quality checks and proactive supplier audits, we minimize the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), preventing rework, rejections, delays, and customer dissatisfaction.
  • To strengthen this, we leverage our “Q-APP” within our suppliers through this digital quality management platform accessible via smartphones.

Q-APP – Our Digital Quality Management Platform

  • At Bombay Metrics, we have developed the Q-APP, a powerful digital tool designed to streamline supplier collaboration and quality management.
  • This app is shared with our suppliers and integrates critical steps such as inspection audits, production process tracking, and APQP/PPAP status monitoring.
  • One of its most impactful features is the automatic issue escalation system—whenever the quality team identifies a concern, the app instantly circulates an email to relevant stakeholders.
  • This ensures real-time communication, faster response times, and reduced delays, leading to seamless collaboration, improved product reliability, and significant time savings across the supply chain.
